Westside Future Fund breaks ground on its first ground-up build, 18 homes in Vine City

Westside Future Fund broke ground August 12 on its first ground-up development, two three-story buildings totaling 18 affordable units on formerly vacant land at 280 James P. Brawley Boulevard in Vine City. The $6.7 million project, designed by Eric Kronberg of Kronberg Urbanists + Architects, sits across from John F.

Kennedy Park and Hollis Innovation Academy, two blocks from Rodney Cook Sr. Park. It follows the nonprofit's renovation of the Yellow Store in English Avenue and two earlier residential projects that added nearly 60 homes to the neighborhood this year.
